Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage moderately complex auto/property contract litigation involving injury, property damage, liability, and coverage issues.
  • •Create and document litigation strategy and decisions, including budgeting and investigation, evaluation, negotiation, settlement, and trial strategy.
  • •Represent USAA at mediations, case conferences, and/or trials, and partner with members and internal/external counsel.
  • •Review, audit, and approve legal fees and expenses, and hold law firm vendors accountable to handling requirements.
  • •Proactively identify and solve routine/intermediate issues in legal case management and improve processes to enhance quality and timeliness.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor's degree; or 4 years of related experience substituting in lieu of the degree.
  • •4 years of work experience handling liability and first party claims, or progressive litigation experience.
  • •2 years of customer contact experience.
  • •Claims adjusters license in the assigned state or ability to obtain within 3 months.
  • •Knowledge of P&C policies and state laws, plus demonstrated negotiation and customer service skills.
