Job Summary

Lead the Intelligent Foundations and Experiences team to build responsible, reliable AI systems and scalable GenAI infrastructure. Partner with engineers, research scientists, TPMs, and product managers to deliver AI-powered products by overseeing foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability. Make build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS tools, drive LLM optimization for production performance, and attract and develop top AI engineering talent.

Key Responsibilities

•Partner with cross-functional teams to deliver AI-powered products that improve how associates work and how customers interact.
•Oversee the design, development, testing, deployment, and support of AI software components including foundation model training, LLM inference, similarity search, guardrails, model evaluation, experimentation, governance, and observability.
•Make high-judgment build-vs-buy decisions across Open Source and SaaS AI technologies including AWS Ultraclusters, Huggingface, VectorDBs, and Nemo Guardrails.
•Invent and introduce state-of-the-art LLM optimization techniques to improve scalability, cost, latency, and throughput of production AI systems.
•Attract and retain top AI talent; nurture growth through mentoring and coaching and contribute to the technical vision and long-term roadmap.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: USD 229,900 - 286,200 annually

Key Requirements

•Bachelor's degree in Computer Science/AI/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering or related fields plus at least 6 years developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies, or a Master's degree plus at least 4 years developing AI and ML algorithms or technologies.
•At least 1 year of people leadership experience.
•Strong foundation in engineering and mathematics with expertise in hardware, software, and AI.
•Ability to stay abreast of latest research and apply novel techniques judiciously in production.
•Deep technical capability to identify optimization opportunities and communicate complex AI concepts clearly.
