Job Summary

A multidisciplinary, on-base psychologist role providing intake, assessment, and mental health treatment to Defence personnel. You will manage your own caseload, participate in crisis risk management within a defence health center, and work within a team to deliver evidence-based psychological strategies and services across Kapooka Health Centre & Clinic.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform initial intake and comprehensive mental health assessment and provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions.
•Autonomously manage your caseload including oversight and case management of externally referred cases and provision of internal treatment to Defence members.
•Engage in crisis presentations, risk assessment and risk management planning within a multi-disciplinary team.
•Collaborate with medical and command teams to coordinate referrals and ensure appropriate care delivery.
•Contribute to the multidisciplinary team with adherence to ADF mental health and wellbeing standards and local policies.

Key Requirements

•Current unconditional and unrestricted registration as a Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
•Minimum 2 years post graduate experience in the last 5 years in mental health in a primary health or specialist mental health setting undertaking comprehensive mental health assessment and delivering a range of evidence based 'Focussed Psychological Strategies' as defined under the Medicare Schedule.
•Recent participation in Continuous Professional Development (CPD) activities in accordance with AHPRA.
•Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (HLTAID009) certification.
•Knowledge of relevant State/Territory policies and procedures and national standards governing mental health practice (desirable).
