Job Summary

Operate and assist with the setup of a vacuum atomization furnace by cleaning, monitoring, and securing equipment before and during atomization. Prepare raw material charges, run the furnace control board, perform minor repairs, and maintain chamber components including seals and crucibles. Transport and charge materials, handle gas/electric/water line attachments as directed, and follow EH&S and CORE guidelines while working 4th shift.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform cleaning, monitoring, and securing operations to set up a vacuum atomization furnace.
•Follow verbal and written instructions to perform repetitive tasks before, after, and during the atomization process.
•Prepare raw material charges and run the furnace control board; perform minor repairs and housekeeping.
•Assist with removal/replacement of furnace lid and coils; clean furnace chamber interior and “O” ring seal.
•Use an electric hoist to remove/replace furnace lid; clean crucibles and patch cracks; adhere to EH&S guidelines including respirator use.
