Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, transporting loads safely and on time while obeying all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • •Maneuver the truck and trailer into loading and unloading areas, following loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted, including unloading empty skids and returning equipment to designated areas.
  • •Maintain signed invoices and required shipping paperwork (e.g., shipping bills of lading), delivering documentation to the shipping office when the route is complete.
  • •Facilitate routine service on trucks (e.g., checking oil, water, gasoline, and air), report maintenance malfunctions to the Shipping Supervisor, and arrange trailers in shipping yards.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate to the vehicle weight, and be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Pass required background and drug testing, including a DOT physical for trucks over 10k lbs, and a 10-panel drug screen for this safety-sensitive role.
  • •Strong interpersonal and customer service skills, with the ability to speak professionally and courteously with customers and staff at delivery points.
  • •Ability to remain focused in a busy environment and work safely while transporting loads over required routes.
  • •Physical ability to sit for long periods, lift and move up to 40 pounds, and travel frequently.
