Key Responsibilities

  • •Install, inspect, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair power plant mechanical equipment including boilers, turbines, pumps, motors, valves, condensers, and heat exchangers.
  • •Perform preventive, corrective, and diagnostic maintenance on stationary and rotating equipment, including repairing or replacing mechanical components.
  • •Use precision measuring devices and technical drawings/specifications to set clearances/tolerances; operate machine shop equipment such as drill presses, lathes, and boring mills.
  • •Perform fabrication tasks including welding, cutting, brazing, and fabrication using gas/arc/oxy-acetylene equipment, and complete plumbing/pipefitting.
  • •Document maintenance work and parts using SAP (CMMS) and follow safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures; provide guidance to apprentice mechanics as needed.

Key Requirements

  • •High school diploma or GED, with knowledge of English, mathematics, and grammar.
  • •0–3 years of mechanical maintenance experience supporting repair, inspection, and/or maintenance of related power plant or machine shop equipment, including preventive maintenance and troubleshooting OR 3 years in a similar industrial environment.
  • •Ability to safely use hand tools and precision measuring instruments to set clearances and tolerances using blueprints/drawings/specifications.
  • •Ability to operate welding and cutting equipment and qualify as a code welder with training.
  • •Ability to follow safety, environmental, and lockout/tagout procedures, and work safely in power plant environments.
