Job Summary

Deputy Lead responsible for developing, implementing and integrating Nuclear Safety Management Systems (NSMS) within a highly regulated environment. Lead NSMS programmes, govern governance artefacts, coordinate cross-functional inputs, and drive assurance methodologies and audit readiness across the enterprise to support Australia’s defence programme.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the operational delivery and implementation of NSMS programmes and governance initiatives.
•Coordinate development of policies, processes, procedures and governance artefacts across multiple business functions.
•Drive cross-functional engagement to ensure NSMS requirements are integrated across the enterprise.
•Develop assurance methodologies, audit frameworks, compliance tools and performance monitoring mechanisms.
•Manage programme schedules, risks, issues and reporting to support delivery outcomes.

Key Requirements

•Degree qualification in Engineering, Science, Risk, Quality, Governance, Business Management or related discipline.
•10–15 years' experience within nuclear, defence or other safety-critical and highly regulated industries.
•Experience implementing management systems, governance frameworks or assurance programmes.
•Experience in audit, compliance, assurance or regulatory environments, including policy/procedure development.
•Strong understanding of nuclear safety principles; familiarity with IAEA, WANO, INPO, ISO 9001 and ISO 19443.
