Key Responsibilities

  • •Own and drive the product roadmap for DigitalOcean's Managed Databases (MySQL), including provisioning workflows, deployment experience, reliability, performance, and pricing.
  • •Conduct comprehensive market analysis on database trends, competitive offerings, pricing, and emerging database technologies.
  • •Collaborate with Engineering and Infrastructure to conceptualize, develop, and deliver managed database solutions for traditional OLTP and AI applications.
  • •Advocate for customer needs by collecting and prioritizing feedback to improve provisioning, scaling, and day-two operations.
  • •Partner with Capacity Planning, Solutions Architecture, Go-to-Market, and Customer Success to ensure successful, scalable product launches and full lifecycle management.

Key Requirements

  • •5+ years of product management experience specializing in cloud database products, with direct experience owning an open-source database offering (MySQL strongly preferred).
  • •Deep technical knowledge of relational databases and their applications in traditional transactional workloads and modern AI/ML applications.
  • •Proven track record of taking database products from concept through large-scale deployment and ongoing optimization.
  • •Strong sense of ownership and ability to drive value for customers and the business.
  • •Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field—or equivalent practical experience.
