Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and DOT inspections on light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles and follow up repairs in a mobile/field environment.
  • •Diagnose, adjust, and repair major truck systems including electrical, brakes, cooling, starters/alternators, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, differentials, and related components.
  • •Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
  • •Road test vehicles to confirm proper operation and maintain high productivity aligned to standard repair times.
  • •Independently manage parts inventory on the company-issued service truck, maintain the vehicle with safety checks and pre-/post-trip inspections, and document findings on Repair Orders including DOT forms using TRAIT and a company-issued iOS device.

Key Requirements

  • •High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent mix such as a degree/certification plus 3 years, or 7 years experience).
  • •Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
  • •Ability to successfully complete and pass a DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical prior to employment (or submit a valid DOT medical card with more than four months remaining).
  • •Due to interstate operating authority commerce regulations, must be at least 21 years or older and hold a valid driver’s license with ability to obtain/maintain a Driver Qualification File.
  • •Required certifications to obtain within 18 months: ASE T8 (PMI) and ASE 608/609; OEM training and ASE T2/T3/T4/T5/T6/T7/A8/L1/L2 are preferred.
