Job Summary

Provide technical leadership on multi-site, multi-phase power and energy projects, supporting work from due diligence through remediation, permitting, design, and construction. Research, plan, and design transmission and distribution substation systems and protection/control solutions, perform electrical calculations and studies, and develop plans, specs, cost estimates, and safety documentation. Coordinate with project managers and other disciplines while ensuring regulatory compliance and clear, forward-thinking recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

•Determine methods for collecting, compiling, and analyzing data for substation components, procurement package development, and design review in line with IEEE/NESC/NERC standards and regulations.
•Design and develop transmission/distribution substation deliverables including single-line/three-line drawings, wiring diagrams, layouts, bus arrangements, grounding grids, and lightning protection.
•Develop electrical calculations and studies such as load calculations, equipment sizing, short-circuit study, protective device coordination, protective relaying, and switchyard layouts.
•Prepare plans, specifications, cost estimates, and coordination inputs with owners and other disciplines, including construction safety and phasing plans.
•Support teams with technical guidance, training for entry-level engineers, and preparation of technical reports and presentations while maintaining quality, compliance, and data/documentation integrity.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
•5 to 7 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer delivering design work for large capital projects.
•Engineer in Training Certification.
•Experience working with operations and project controls for reporting and proposal development.
•Proficiency with electrical engineering principles and design/build application to permitting and project work issues.
