Job Summary

Supervise operations at an asphalt plant, overseeing production to ensure specified quantities of aggregates and asphalt cement are weighed, heated, mixed, and delivered to trucks efficiently. Perform and verify pre- and end-of-shift inspections, maintain proper dryer heat and material flow, monitor gauges and machinery operation, and support maintenance and plant production/maintenance reporting. Partner with plant crews to keep production running safely and on target.

Key Responsibilities

•Supervise employees and asphalt plant operations to weigh and deliver specified quantities of aggregates and asphalt cement for heating, mixing, and loading into trucks.
•Partner with other plant crew members to keep production running at efficient levels.
•Conduct pre-shift inspections and end-of-shift inspections of the plant and safety items.
•Follow company policies and OSHA/MSHA regulations for safe working procedures and environment.
•Maintain proper dryer heat and material flow by adjusting thermostatic controls, observe gauges/dials and machinery operation, and assist with maintenance and compiling production/maintenance reports.

Key Requirements

•High school education or GED preferred (not required).
•Related experience and/or training required.
•Valid driver’s license and ability to operate a company vehicle, including meeting Driver Qualification Standard.
•Knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems and ability to operate plant computer systems.
•Ability to adhere to safety protocols and PPE requirements, including working at heights up to 90 feet and performing maintenance/repair tasks.
