Job Summary

Maintain and repair electrical systems at a fast-paced pork processing plant to keep production running safely and efficiently. You’ll install, troubleshoot, and perform preventative maintenance on motors, control panels, lighting, wiring, and power distribution, including complex systems like refrigeration and backup generators. Follow LOCKOUT/TAGOUT and GMPs, comply with OSHA and NEC requirements, document maintenance work, and collaborate with maintenance and plant teams to minimize downtime.

Key Responsibilities

•Maintain electrical systems by installing, repairing, and performing routine inspections and preventative maintenance on motors, control panels, lighting, wiring, and power distribution.
•Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues to minimize downtime, including work on refrigeration, lighting, power supplies, and backup generators.
•Ensure safety and compliance by following safety protocols and adhering to electrical codes and regulations (OSHA, NEC).
•Collaborate with maintenance and plant teams to prioritize work, keep records of electrical maintenance and repairs, and coordinate with the Maintenance Supervisor.
•Support plant-wide electrical needs by repairing machinery and infrastructure, assisting during emergencies and shutdowns, and helping install new equipment and electrical upgrades.

Key Requirements

•Associate’s degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school and 2+ years related experience (or equivalent combination of education and experience).
•PLC experience.
•Read and write fluently in English to understand technical/training manuals.
•Ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with team personnel and outside contractors.
•Ability to operate a forklift, genie lift, or scissor lift (preferred).
