Key Responsibilities

  • •Safely and efficiently operate hatchery equipment while maintaining a safe work environment and following Tyson Animal Welfare guidelines.
  • •Cross-train on all hatchery production positions and learn startup/shutdown procedures for machinery.
  • •Properly clean equipment and maintain hatchery operations in accordance with rules and regulations.
  • •Handle materials and perform physical tasks including lifting boxes, moving pallets, and loading/removing baskets and trays from machines.
  • •Perform chick culling to separate nonviable chicks from viable chicks.

  • •Minimum six (6) months of machine operator experience (combined across employers is acceptable).
  • •Minimum six (6) months of continuous work experience with a single employer within the past 24 months.
  • •Ability to read computer screens to operate machinery and keep up with flocks and stack/pallet counts.
  • •Willingness to work flexible hours, most holidays, rotate jobs, and work primarily Monday/Tuesday/Thursday/Friday with varying times.
  • •Ability to meet physical requirements, including lifting up to ~50 lbs, handling up to ~500 lbs pallets, bending/lifting repetitively, climbing stairs/ladders, and working in extreme hot/cold environments.
