Job Summary

Support delivery of a portfolio of transport planning projects, including transport strategies, local plans, business cases, transport assessments, feasibility studies, and scheme development aligned with UK guidance. Provide technical oversight through transport planning policy and appraisal, review junior deliverables, and mentor team members. Serve as a key point of contact across UK and India teams, collaborating with mobility and data analytics teams while contributing to bids and continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead and support delivery of transport planning project portfolios, including transport strategies, Local Plans, business cases, scheme appraisals, transport assessments, and feasibility studies.
•Provide subject matter expertise in transport planning policy, scheme appraisal, and technical analysis aligned with UK guidance and client requirements.
•Oversee and review deliverables from junior staff to ensure alignment with project objectives, technical standards, and client expectations.
•Act as a key point of contact between UK and India teams by managing workflows, monitoring progress, and communicating expectations; collaborate with mobility and analytics teams on future-ready initiatives.
•Contribute to bids for funding, feasibility studies, and strategic reports; support reporting of project progress and contribute to business improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements

•M. Tech/M. Plan in a related subject such as civil engineering, transport engineering, or transport planning.
•Member or working towards associated professional body membership.
•Experience managing a range of small, medium and/or large transport planning projects, including project team management, collaboration, budgeting, programming, and technical excellence.
•Experience delivering transport planning projects covering scheme development (active travel, public transport, highways-based solutions), business case development, transport strategies and appraisal, and development planning.
•Excellent report writing and strong analytical skills.
