Job Summary

Build and maintain Layer1 software that powers physical connectivity, from 1GBASE-T connectors to 400G long-reach optics. Design and lead development of new Layer1 features, including C/C++/Python implementations, automated tests, and instrumentation/telemetry for link health. Partner with customers, product management, hardware, manufacturing, and system test teams to bring components to market and troubleshoot real network issues, while mentoring engineers.

•Interface with customers, product management, and hardware engineers to develop new Layer1 features.
•Architect, design, and manage development of Layer1 features from definition through deployment.
•Develop and maintain features in C, C++, and Python; review specifications and build automated test infrastructure.
•Work with hardware and manufacturing teams to bring new Layer1 components to market and collaborate on software control interfaces.
•Analyze and fix problems in customer networks and systems tests; mentor new and junior engineers.

Key Requirements

•BS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 3 years, or MS + 2 years, or Ph.D. + 1 year, or equivalent work experience.
•Expert knowledge of C or C++ and Python.

•Ability to design solutions and implement features independently and work in small teams.
