Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead music business strategy across UK productions aligned with global music policies and practices.
  • •Negotiate and oversee drafting of music-related agreements, including composer deals, publishing arrangements, licensing, soundtrack distribution, and label waivers.
  • •Provide expert guidance on UK and EU music rights, copyright, fair dealing/fair use, parody, public domain analysis, union regulations, and performing rights.
  • •Review and clear music usage in programming and handle music licensing workflows (quote requests, pick-up letters, master use and sync licenses, payments, and vendor set-ups).
  • •Maintain tracking grids/cost charts/databases, manage cue sheet review and submissions, and collaborate with partners and departments to support delivery of music-related obligations and deliverables.

Key Requirements

  • •Deep understanding of UK/EU music rights, licensing, and industry practices.
  • •Established relationships with major publishing companies, record labels, and music libraries, with clearance/licensing experience.
  • •Proven ability to manage complex negotiations and high-volume deal flow while balancing competing deadlines and priorities.
  • •Tech-savvy familiarity with cloud-based documents/databases and systems for contract management, payments/vendor setup, and music clearance/cue sheet tools (e.g., Qwire, SoundMouse).
