Key Responsibilities

  • •Write functional and design specifications for EOS features related to forwarding traffic in internet and cloud data centers.
  • •Independently implement small-sized EOS problems using C, C++, and/or Python.
  • •Write automated test plan specifications and implement automated test programs to execute test cases.
  • •Debug failures found by automated tests and fix problems; collaborate on larger routing protocol issues.
  • •Partner with Customer Support and System Test Engineers to analyze network issues and provide fixes via new software releases or patches; mentor junior engineers.

Key Requirements

  • •BS in Computer Science/Electrical Engineering/Computer Engineering + 8 years experience, or MS + 6 years experience, or PhD + 3 years experience, or equivalent work experience.
  • •Knowledge of C, C++, and/or Python.
  • •Knowledge of UNIX or Linux.
  • •Understanding of L2/L3 networking and at least one of: IP routing protocols (RIP, OSPF, BGP, IS-IS, PIM) or Layer 2 features (802.1d bridging, STP, 802.1ax LACP, 802.1AB LLDP, RFC 1812).
  • •Ability to utilize, test, and debug a packet forwarding engine and vendor-provided hardware software libraries; applied software engineering principles and strong troubleshooting skills.
