Job Summary

Lead legal support for Visa’s CARCAM business operations across Central America and the Caribbean, based in Miami and reporting to the regional Chief Counsel leadership. Provide structured legal analysis, identify and escalate roadblocks, and drive negotiated outcomes. Advise on electronic payments and legal areas including antitrust, privacy, intellectual property, anti-bribery, and employment. Draft, review, and negotiate commercial agreements and manage outside counsel cost-effectively.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide primary legal support to the CARCAM Group Manager and leadership team, developing solutions and guiding implementation through structured legal analysis.
•Advise on CARCAM market matters, including legal expertise across electronic payments, antitrust, privacy, intellectual property, anti-bribery, and employment.
•Draft, review, and negotiate a broad range of commercial agreements, including client incentive, sponsorship/advertising, technology, consultancy/contractor, and confidentiality agreements.
•Determine when external legal support is required and manage outside counsel efficiently and cost-effectively.
•Serve as a strategic sounding board to leadership by testing ideas, identifying risks, and assessing legal or business implications of strategic changes.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•12 years of relevant experience.
•Juris Doctorate degree from an accredited law school.
•Current member in good standing of a State Bar with the ability to become barred or registered in-house counsel in the state where this role is located.
•First-class written and verbal communication skills in Spanish and English.
•Experience and expertise in electronic payments and related legal areas (e.g., antitrust, privacy, intellectual property, anti-bribery, employment) to provide practical business-focused advice.
