Build the standardized data access layer for Abnormal’s Multi-Product Platform, serving as the single source of truth across products. Design and iterate on data APIs and services, enforce tenant isolation and fine-grained access control, and drive operational excellence for a high-throughput, low-latency critical path. Codify early architecture decisions, establish engineering practices (testing, reviews, on-call, CI), and mentor engineers while collaborating with product and design teams.

Key Responsibilities

•Design, build, and iterate on APIs and services for the standardized data access layer.
•Drive adoption of API-gated data sources so teams can reuse data instead of building one-off integrations.
•Implement standard data ownership labeling and validation logic for incoming requests.
•Own reliability, latency, and operational excellence for a high-throughput, low-latency system on the request path.
•Establish engineering practices (testing, reviews, on-call, CI guardrails) and mentor engineers as the team grows.

Key Requirements

•7+ years as a Senior Software Engineer with strong software engineering fundamentals.
•Strong experience writing production Python and Golang, and working with SQL and NoSQL databases.
•Solid system design experience building resilient, scalable applications with operational excellence.
•Ability to own complex end-to-end systems and influence cross-team goals and roadmaps.
•Experience with service health, monitoring, fault tolerance, and incident response practices.
