Job Summary

Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for architectural, structural, and civil works from contract drawings through tender stages. Develop quantity breakdowns and cost plan quantities across feasibility and pre-development stages, including value engineering and major variations. Review drawings/specifications for errors and manage quantity variance reporting for bid analysis and cost reduction. Maintain construction cost databases, measurement records, and support cashflow preparation.

Key Responsibilities

•Prepare detailed quantity take-offs for all trades (including Architecture, Structural and Civil works) from contract drawings and specifications through tender stage.
•Prepare quantities for cost plans at order-of-magnitude, conceptual, feasibility and pre-development stages, including value engineering and major variations.
•Perform review of contract specifications and drawings to identify errors, discrepancies, and/or ambiguities.
•Maintain current construction cost data using historical costs, market research, construction cost indices, and computerized estimating systems.
•Maintain files/records and prepare quantity variance reports for bid analysis and cost reduction strategies; assist with cashflow preparation.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in quantity surveying or Structural/Civil Engineering (Master’s desirable).
•Registration and professional certification in associated organizations such as RICS or CIOB (mandatory).
•8 to 10 years of relevant experience in a consulting firm and/or general contracting organization.
•Proven quantity surveying skills for complex construction projects, including preparing quantities for all trades.
•Proficiency with CostX/Estimator (or equivalent) and BIM to develop control quantities, plus experience with estimating tools and computerized applications.
