Job Summary

Prepare aircraft engine parts for NDI, visual inspection, or return to service by planning and performing chemical cleaning and processing operations. Follow operation sheets, SPOP, specifications, and detailed instructions to degrease, soak, rinse, and dry items across multiple tanks and solutions. Perform corrosion/stain removal, visual quality checks, and reprocessing as needed, including masking, loading fixtures, operating regeneration equipment, and supporting safe movement of materials.

Key Responsibilities

•Plan and perform chemical processing operations to prepare parts for NDI, visual inspection, or return to service.
•Degrease, clean, rinse, and dry parts using acid/alkali dipping or soaking and cold/hot water rinses per established procedures.
•Remove corrosion, stains, and residue as needed using tools and cleaning materials; mask items when required.
•Visually inspect completed work for defects (e.g., pitting, etching, discoloration, voids, blisters) and reprocess when needed.
•Operate regeneration equipment and support tank operations, ovens, and movement/transport of heavier items using approved equipment.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma or GED.
•Basic knowledge of how various chemicals act on different materials.
•Ability to work from drawings, operation sheets, specifications, and handbooks to apply surface treatment methods to processing operations and specific problems.
•Prefer 6–12 months of trades training.
•Prefer 1+ years working on a clean or etch line, preferably within the aviation industry.
