Key Responsibilities

  • •Build and maintain data ownership, lineage, and data quality monitoring systems that power risk decisions with trusted data.
  • •Design continuous monitoring and validation for control effectiveness, including trigger validation, drift detection, coverage analysis, and control health scoring.
  • •Implement end-to-end audit trails, change history tracking, and explainability tooling for one-click regulatory evidence generation.
  • •Design robust, high-throughput solutions that scale across multiple risk domains and remain understandable and operational.
  • •Integrate governance and assurance capabilities into the Risk API platform via shared data contracts and clean integration points.

Pay and Benefits

Salary: GBP 87,500 - 111,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •Proven backend engineering experience building high-throughput, data-intensive systems in Java.
  • •Hands-on expertise with Kafka, SQL, and NoSQL databases, including designing for scale and reliability.
  • •Experience with data quality frameworks, pipeline orchestration, and/or lineage tracking to build trustworthy data systems.
  • •Ability to reason about complex distributed systems, identify failure modes, and design robust, operationally simple solutions.
  • •Ownership mindset with the ability to define work from high-level objectives and drive delivery end-to-end across teams.
