Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead technical support for overhead line design on complex multi-discipline projects.
  • •Write proposals covering timeline, resources, budget, objectives, and goals.
  • •Own assigned design activities for overhead line engineering, including modelling, line routing, structural analysis/loading trees, design criteria, sag-tension calculations, and structural spotting.
  • •Lead feasibility studies, including conductor thermal ratings and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • •Produce and check engineering deliverables (designs, reports, proposals, presentations, drawing packages) and perform internal quality checks.

Key Requirements

  • •Professionally qualified CEng Chartered Engineer with a recognized electrical engineering institution (e.g., the IET).
  • •Bachelor’s degree in engineering or equivalent technical discipline, electrical engineering or power engineering.
  • •Experience delivering transmission system operator projects (e.g., National Grid, SSE, SPT) in line with each operator’s standards.
  • •Overhead line engineering project experience (ideally up to 400kV).
  • •Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
