Job Summary

Lead and manage a portfolio of wildfire situational awareness technology programs, from evaluation and proof-of-concept through operational integration. Serve as a technical expert interface across wildfire operations, emergency management, vendors, data/analytics teams, and utility stakeholders. Own technology investment strategy, define operational use cases and success metrics, drive adoption into field workflows, and manage program planning, controls, risk, documentation, and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead one major project or multiple moderate projects, including planning, objectives/scope, and business case development.
•Own and execute the wildfire situational awareness technology portfolio, including identification, evaluation, prioritization, and investment deployment.
•Conduct technology assessments, proof-of-concepts, pilot programs, and operational demonstrations across detection, monitoring, forecasting, and decision-support capabilities.
•Develop project plans and controls (budget, scope, quality, schedule, risks), track performance and benefit realization metrics, and negotiate vendor contract changes.
•Provide stakeholder engagement, define operational use cases and success criteria, and ensure successful transition and adoption into wildfire operations and emergency management.

Travel: Low travel

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, business, communications, or fire science (ABET-accredited or equivalent) or equivalent experience.
•Typically 8+ years in a related field.
•Specialized depth and/or breadth of expertise; interprets internal/external business issues and recommends best practices.
•Advanced project management skills across scope, quality, time, cost, communication, procurement, resources, and risk management.
•PE and/or PMP certification preferred.
