Job Summary

Maintain and repair a wide range of construction and heavy equipment used in asphalt paving and related site work. Perform assembly, adjustments, maintenance, troubleshooting, lubrication, and inspections, and assist with major overhauls for engines, starters, generators, regulators, and power-transfer mechanisms. Support repairs during day/night and out-of-town crews, perform preventive maintenance, and handle heavy equipment parts catalogs and procurement.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform mechanic duties across various pieces of machinery and operating equipment used in construction and paving.
•Execute preventive maintenance and inspections to increase equipment service life.
•Support repairs for engines and heavy equipment across day/night and out-of-town crews.
•Assist with major overhauls and repairs for key equipment systems and components.
•Manage heavy equipment parts familiarization, including parts catalogs, procurement, handling, storage, and costs.

Key Requirements

•Repair and maintain construction equipment (assembly, adjustments, maintenance, and possible welding).
•Perform lubrication, oil/air/fuel filtration work, grease point/capacity checks, and inspection to detect abnormal conditions.
•Assist with overhauls of mechanisms that transfer engineer horsepower to active effort.
•Assist with overhauls of air-cooled engines and related components (starters, generators, voltage regulators).
•3+ years of experience working on heavy equipment; high school diploma or equivalent preferred (not required).
