Key Responsibilities

  • •Provide technical leadership for the Deploy@Scale platform, shaping architecture decisions for safe, reliable, automated deployments.
  • •Set technical direction across multiple workstreams and influence how dozens of engineering teams think about deployment safety.
  • •Partner with EM and leadership to shape a multi-quarter roadmap and serve as a primary technical voice in cross-team design reviews, RFCs, and incident retrospectives.
  • •Unblock and elevate the team by reviewing designs before code, pairing on the hardest problems, and raising the technical bar through mentorship.
  • •Define what the platform is, decide what not to build, and make tradeoffs to ensure the system is safe, fast, and scalable years into the future.

Key Requirements

  • •8+ years of hands-on software engineering experience owning architecture of complex, distributed, production-critical systems end to end.
  • •Demonstrated technical leadership via RFCs and design reviews relied on by other senior engineers and teams, with comfort being a technical escalation point.
  • •Deep experience with safety, observability, and automation in production systems, including rollback paths, health signals, and guardrails.
  • •Ability to influence technical direction across team boundaries through architecture, mentorship, or platform APIs/contracts without direct authority.
  • •Strong written and verbal communication for writing docs and RFCs that align and persuade.
