Key Responsibilities

  • •Ensure health and safety standards are met by complying with legislation and company policies while promoting a safe work environment.
  • •Supervise and coordinate asphalt paving employees, studying production schedules and estimating work requirements to complete assignments on time and within estimate.
  • •Tour job sites to assess progress, detect insufficient utilization of workers/equipment, verify slope and material thickness, and supervise compliance with contracts.
  • •Calculate truck needs to haul asphalt from the hot plant based on capacity, traffic, distance, and driver productivity.
  • •Maintain time and materials records for daily job costing and recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and crew performance.

Key Requirements

  • •3 to 5 years of related asphalt and paving experience or an equivalent combination of education and training.
  • •Experience in private/commercial paving and training/experience in M.O.T.
  • •Ability to compute rates and measurements using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals, and interpret bar graphs.
  • •Ability to read and comprehend instructions and communicate effectively, including typing and accurate keyboard use.
  • •Ability to operate equipment safely and maintain time and material records.
