Key Responsibilities

•Own one or more scoped projects end to end with mentor support, delivering a self-contained engineering artifact within the engagement.
•Conduct hull form resistance analysis and assess drag, displacement, and speed trade-offs across candidate geometries, with deliverables.
•Perform internal volume/arrangement trade studies to ensure payload fit and hydrostatic stability (weight, displacement, trim).
•Size primary structure (frames, shell plating, bulkheads) to ABS/DNV rules and generate midship section drawings with material estimates.
•Develop stability and loading analyses (equilibrium polygon, surfaced GZ curves) and contribute to deployment/recovery system concepts for subsystems.

Key Requirements

•Pursuing a degree in naval architecture, marine engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field
•Coursework or project experience in ship hydrostatics, resistance, structures, or stability
•Working knowledge of naval-architecture analysis tools (e.g., Maxsurf, Rhino, Orca3D, GHS, or equivalent)
•Ability to define and deliver a self-contained engineering artifact in 8 weeks with mentor support
•Hands-on experience building or testing hardware via any means (machining, fabrication, assembly, model building)
