Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead mechanical design and integration of battery packs, enclosures, mounting systems, structural components, and service interfaces to meet performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements.
  • •Design autonomous docking stations, charging interfaces, alignment mechanisms, and structural assemblies for reliable robot charging and battery engagement under repeated use.
  • •Define mechanical architectures across battery retention, thermal interfaces, sealing strategies, connector protection, and structural load paths.
  • •Collaborate with electrical, controls, systems, firmware, and software teams to ensure seamless integration between charging hardware, battery electronics, sensing, and robotic operation.
  • •Perform structural and thermal analyses, support prototype testing and root-cause investigations, and partner with manufacturing and suppliers to optimize production, assembly, cost, and serviceability.

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of professional experience in mechanical design, with experience in battery design, packaging, charging systems, and/or other complex electromechanical products.
  • •Strong CAD experience designing precision mechanical assemblies (NX or similar), including sheet metal, machined parts, castings, plastics, and structural assemblies.
  • •Proficiency in tolerance analysis and mechanical validation with an understanding of thermal and structural considerations for battery systems.
  • •Experience taking products from concept through prototype, validation, and production while working with suppliers and manufacturing teams.
  • •Strong analytical problem-solving skills and excellent cross-functional communication.
