Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead estimation of flood flows using established methodologies in the Flood Estimations Handbook.
  • •Develop and check hydraulic models to support flood alleviation schemes, flood risk assessments, river restoration, and flood map creation.
  • •Produce and review high-quality technical reports, including model build documentation and uncertainty considerations.
  • •Conceptualise, scope, and plan modelling and hydrological approaches with risk and opportunity considerations.
  • •Collaborate with engineering teams and mentor staff while delivering outputs through AECOM project management systems within programme and budget.

Key Requirements

  • •Over 10 years of experience in flood modelling and flood risk assessment.
  • •Significant experience applying hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller and/or TUFLOW.
  • •Hydrological assessments using FEH and REFH2.
  • •Strong GIS skills using QGIS, ArcGIS and/or MapInfo.
  • •Demonstrable experience working on projects in UK&I and fluency in English (oral and written).
