Key Responsibilities

  • •Operate the vehicle according to applicable state and federal transportation laws, following routes and traffic rules while observing safety regulations.
  • •Transport loads safely and in a timely manner, maneuvering truck and trailer into loading/unloading areas and following loading crew signals.
  • •Assist with loading and unloading goods and materials using specialized equipment when warranted.
  • •Maintain signed invoices and shipping paperwork (e.g., bills of lading) and deliver documentation when routes are complete.
  • •Perform routine truck service checks (e.g., oil, water, gasoline, air) and report maintenance malfunctions; arrange trailers in shipping yards for optimal loading.

Key Requirements

  • •Hold a commercial drivers license (Class A CDL) or chauffeur’s license appropriate for the vehicle you operate.
  • •Pass required background and drug testing under federal and/or state DOT regulations, and pass a DOT physical for vehicles over 10k lbs.
  • •Be at least 21 years old to operate a company vehicle.
  • •Be able to sit for prolonged periods in a trailer cab and lift/move up to 40 pounds.
  • •Be able to travel frequently and follow safety requirements for safety-sensitive positions (including potential clean-shaven requirement for certain deliveries).
