Key Responsibilities

  • •Oversees the clinical activities of the junior medical staff and is assumes responsibility for the care they provide.
  • •Diagnoses and treats patients according to established standards of best practice for the post holder’s specialty.
  • •Leads ward round; reassesses both inpatients and outpatients on a regular basis, in line with established best practice.
  • •Participates in and ensures the provision of out of hours (on call) coverage on a rotational basis including evenings, nights, weekends and public holidays as required.
  • •Promotes quality improvement and education within the Department, including CME and research.

Key Requirements

  • •Tier 1: NLT 2 years relevant experience as a consultant or equivalent post board certification.
  • •Tier 2: NLT 8 years full-time employment as a Consultant or equivalent post board certification (includes years in fellowship training) in internationally accredited institute.
  • •For UAE Nationals: Clinical Fellowship training following primary specialty board may substitute for experience.
  • •Each year of clinical fellowship is counted as two years of clinical experience.
  • •Only applicable to clinical subspecialty fellowship in the following countries (Australia, New Zealand, Canada, UK, USA) or HAAD accredited fellowship programs.
