Key Responsibilities

  • •Push the close forward by owning critical-path workstreams, chasing open items, and keeping the close calendar honest.
  • •Prepare complex judgmental schedules and defend work to auditors for areas like stock-based compensation, leases, capitalized software, payroll/comp accruals, intercompany, and foreign currency.
  • •Review established areas (fixed assets, prepaids, cash, recurring accruals/journal entries, AP, expense reports) and set the quality bar.
  • •Own the tie-out and narrative for consolidation, the close package, and flux month-over-month and budget-to-actual.
  • •Manage and develop the team, support the day-to-day external audit, design SOX-ready close controls, and own close-process/workstream migration off Xero while rebuilding around AI automation.

Salary: USD 150,000 - 180,000 annually

Key Requirements

  • •6+ years of progressive accounting experience with hands-on ownership of technical close areas (e.g., stock comp, leases, capitalized software, or payroll accounting) and experience reviewing another accountant’s work.
  • •Active CPA preferred, with Big 4 or national firm foundation a plus.
  • •Deep operational US GAAP fluency in complex areas including capitalization judgment, equity compensation, leases, payroll and comp accruals, intercompany, foreign currency, and cutoff.
  • •Hands-on ERP and systems experience, including equity administration (Carta or similar), payroll systems, close tooling (Numeric, FloQast, BlackLine or similar), and spend platforms (Ramp or similar).
  • •Comfort with AI-native accounting work using LLMs daily and a demonstrated ability to build automation tooling (including small scripts in Python, SQL, or Apps Script).
