Job Summary

Design and scale secure, high-impact AI systems for real problems in Mercado Pago. You’ll develop predictive models (classification, regression, forecasting), build graph-based models using Graph Neural Networks and relational deep learning for merchant scoring, and create reusable merchant embeddings. Own robust A/B experimentation with strong statistical power and offline backtesting pipelines, while documenting methodologies, evangelizing experimentation best practices, and serving as a technical reference within the team.

Key Responsibilities

•Design and develop predictive models (classification, regression, forecasting) to optimize key products in the acquiring vertical.
•Implement graph-based models (Graph Neural Networks and relational deep learning) for merchant quality scoring using connections across devices, accounts, and transactions.
•Build reusable merchant embeddings that capture merchant behavior and relationships to enhance the team’s model portfolio.
•Design robust A/B experiments with high statistical power and create offline backtesting pipelines to validate models before production.
•Document methodologies, evangelize experimentation best practices, and act as a technical reference within the team.

Key Requirements

•Solid experience in Machine Learning modeling and practical application of causal inference methods.
•Applied knowledge of graph design and processing, including graph embeddings, contrastive learning, and transfer learning in heterogeneous domains.
•Proficiency in Python and large-scale data processing with BigQuery and SQL, including designing efficient training and inference pipelines.
•Strong statistical foundations for designing and analyzing A/B experiments.
•Ability to translate complex mathematical methodologies into clear, actionable narratives for business and product audiences.
