Key Responsibilities

  • •Identify, secure, and develop high quality aggregate reserves for construction and materials operations.
  • •Support aggregate plant operations by defining strategies to improve life of mining (LOM) and extend quarry reserves.
  • •Develop and maintain short-, intermediate-, and long-term LOM plans with production managers, including KPIs to optimize reserves and minimize waste.
  • •Maintain 3D geologic models of quarries in Carlson and coordinate LOM plan reviews (block models, schedules, annual volumes, and resource/reserve quality).
  • •Conduct geotechnical surveys, generate technical plans/illustrations for LOM and stripping, and support land-related work (e.g., agreements, zoning, permitting).

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Mine Engineering.
  • •5+ years of experience as a Geologist or Mine Engineer at an active mine site or developing quality aggregate reserves.
  • •Experience assessing LOM resources and reserves, pit designs, and 5-year block models for quarry mining, including water drainage and overburden removal.
  • •Knowledge of industrial geology as related to the construction industry.
  • •Surveying knowledge/experience with GPS station gear and ability to think strategically and collaborate.
