Key Responsibilities

  • •Serve as site technical authority for safety engineering, leading hazard identification, risk assessment, and engineering-based risk reduction using the hierarchy of controls.
  • •Lead or facilitate process hazard analyses and job safety analyses for manufacturing, chemical processes, maintenance tasks, and facility changes.
  • •Manage machine safety and safeguarding by leading machine guarding assessments and partnering to design, implement, and validate guarding and engineered controls.
  • •Participate in Management of Change reviews and provide safety-by-design input for equipment, chemicals, processes, layouts, utilities, and work methods from concept through commissioning.
  • •Own and support life-critical safety programs (LOTO, confined space entry, arc flash/electrical safety, hot work, contractor safety interfaces) and coordinate industrial hygiene exposure assessments and corrective actions.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in Safety Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Occupational Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, or related field.
  • •5–7 years of safety engineering/manufacturing EHS, process safety, industrial hygiene, maintenance safety, or related technical risk-reduction experience.
  • •Strong working knowledge of OSHA General Industry requirements and practical application of safety standards in manufacturing operations.
  • •Proficiency in risk assessments and hazard analysis activities (PHA, What-If, JHA/JSAs), plus experience with incident investigation and corrective action effectiveness reviews.
  • •Knowledge of machine guarding and energy control, electrical safety/NFPA 70E concepts, confined space entry, hot work, contractor safety, hazard communication, and emergency response.
