Key Responsibilities

  • •Develop detailed surface mine designs including pit layouts, haul road networks, waste rock storage facilities, and ore stockpiles.
  • •Provide design input to planning and scheduling teams to optimize operations within constraints and feasibility.
  • •Integrate geotechnical considerations and hydrological/environmental factors into designs, including water management, dust control, and rehabilitation plans.
  • •Ensure mine designs meet relevant safety regulations, environmental permits, and industry standards, preparing technical reports, drawings, and specifications.
  • •Support budgeting, forecasting, and capital planning with accurate design inputs and cost estimates while coordinating across short/medium-term planners and engineering teams.

Key Requirements

  • •Bachelor’s degree in mining engineering or related discipline.
  • •Minimum 10 years of open-pit mining experience, ideally in large-scale mine operations.
  • •Proficiency in mine planning tools (Alastri, Vulcan, or similar).
  • •Strong understanding of geotechnical, hydrology, and drill & blast fundamentals.
  • •Fluent in English; French and Chinese are an advantage; experience in remote, multicultural environments is desirable.
