Key Responsibilities

  • •Perform as a Mermaid in underwater shows, meet-and-greets, photo opportunities, themed events, promotional activities, and other assigned guest experiences.
  • •Deliver safe, engaging, polished, and memorable guest experiences while demonstrating strong watermanship, breath-hold ability, body control, and show awareness.
  • •Maintain show readiness (appearance, makeup, costume, tail, accessories, props, hydration, warm-up) and care for equipment and Mermaid tail/costume storage.
  • •Follow all safety procedures and emergency protocols; report safety concerns, unsafe conditions/behavior, and operational concerns immediately through the proper channels.
  • •Participate in rehearsals, training, safety drills, and required documentation; support Mermaid trainees when assigned and assist with room standards and operational rotation.

Key Requirements

  • •1 to 2 years of relevant experience in mermaid performance, aquatic performance, guest entertainment, synchronized swimming, freediving/diving, dance, theatre, character performance, or comparable experience preferred.
  • •Certified freediver with a recognized freediving certification and/or recognized Mermaid certification, or willingness to complete required Mermaid/freediving training.
  • •Ability to hold breath underwater for extended periods and pass annual departmental swim test and annual dive medical or fitness assessment.
  • •Comfortable performing in front of large crowds and engaging with children and adults, including underwater performance for extended periods in varying conditions.
  • •Ability to swim and perform while wearing a monofin or Mermaid tail for extended periods, and meet professional safety standards; CPR/First Aid/lifeguard certification preferred.
