Job Summary

Serve as the Metrology subject matter expert (SME) for the MB-DMI team within Quality, providing technical leadership to develop, validate, approve, and industrialize advanced metrology solutions. Define metrology validation strategies and lead measurement studies (MSA/GR&R, uncertainty, correlations, capability) to establish performance criteria. Collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, quality, MTE, supply chain, and suppliers to deploy model-based 3D inspection and support process validation, risk analyses, and technology adoption.

Key Responsibilities

•Act as the Metrology SME within the MB-DMI team, providing technical leadership for advanced measurement solutions.
•Define metrology validation strategies for new technologies, inspection methods, and metrology applications.
•Lead development, validation, approval, and industrialization of metrology solutions to ensure production deployment readiness.
•Plan, execute, and interpret correlation studies, MSA/GR&R, GSTI, measurement uncertainty analyses, and measurement system qualification/certification activities.
•Collaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, MTE, Supply Chain, and suppliers to develop and deploy new technologies, including 3D model-based inspection methods and process validation strategies (process mapping and PFMEA).

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related discipline.
•Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in industrial metrology, quality, or precision manufacturing.
•Strong knowledge of metrology principles, including MSA/GR&R, measurement uncertainty analysis, correlation studies, and measurement system capability.
•Significant experience with 3D measurement technologies such as CMMs, 3D scanning, and computed tomography (CT).
•Strong understanding of GD&T (ASME Y14.5) and experience developing, validating, or industrializing new inspection or manufacturing methods.
