Senior hydrologist leading hydraulic modelling and flood risk projects within AECOM’s UK Water Resources team. You will manage technical delivery, QA processes, mentorship for juniors, client engagement, and bid/tender support, delivering robust hydro-technical solutions across the UK from Bristol hub.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead standalone hydrological studies and support 1D-2D hydraulic modelling to assess flooding.
•Prepare Flood Risk Assessments (FRAs), Strategic Flood Risk Assessments (SFRAs) and surface water drainage strategies (SuDS, environmental statements).
•Undertake quality assurance of technical work within your area of expertise.
•Nurture and develop graduate team members and junior colleagues.
•Manage client relationships, clarifying expectations and success criteria to deliver successful projects.

Key Requirements

•Undergraduate degree (2:1 or above) in Civil Engineering, Geography, Environmental Science or related discipline
•Extensive practical experience in hydrological methods, including FEH, ReFH2 and WINFAP for flow estimation
•Extensive experience in GIS software (QGIS, ArcGIS and MapInfo)
•Track record leading delivery of flood risk and water management projects and liaising with private/public sector clients and regulators
•Experience in quality assurance reviews of hydrological estimation and reporting
