Key Responsibilities

  • •Lead day-to-day technical delivery of highway consultancy services across feasibility, concept design, planning, detailed design, and construction.
  • •Manage projects to coordinate and ensure compatibility of multi-disciplinary inputs across projects of varying scale and complexity.
  • •Undertake project technical lead and reviewer roles, using technical expertise to support others and maximize team contribution.
  • •Liaise with clients to develop trusted relationships, proactively manage expectations, and provide comprehensive advice.
  • •Prepare fee proposals and manage project budgets, and lead and manage staff to deliver design drawings, specifications, and tender package preparation while ensuring compliance with Health & Safety and environmental legislation and in-house QA standards.

Key Requirements

  • •Relevant knowledge and experience of highway design and/or drainage systems across the project lifecycle, including experience with areas like road geometry, junctions, active travel, and highway drainage.
  • •Experience leading one or multiple design disciplines across relevant projects (e.g., roads, public transport, active travel, public and/or private development).
  • •Ability to use, direct, and/or check design outputs in software including Autodesk Civils 3D, Bentley OpenRoads Designer, InfoDrainage, and PDS.
  • •A Chartered Civil Engineer or an Incorporated Engineer, with extensive post-professional qualification experience, or working towards achieving this.
  • •Knowledge of applicable design codes (e.g., Design Manual for Roads & Bridges, Manual for Streets, TSRGD, and local authority guidance) and preparation of drawings for contract documentation and approvals, including CDM Designers Duties.
