Key Responsibilities

  • •Manage legal and HR issues arising in APAC jurisdictions where Jefferies operates (including with support of external counsel).
  • •Advise on day-to-day employment matters including remuneration/benefits, business protection, dispute resolution, disciplinary processes, performance management, and grievance/preventative management.
  • •Draft, review, and negotiate employment documents, policies, and procedures.
  • •Manage employment litigation claims and pre-action matters, including direct advisory on hires and exits.
  • •Develop and share employment legal best practices with APAC HR, support key APAC projects, and provide training to control functions and managers.

Key Requirements

  • •In-house employment law experience in a fast-paced financial services environment (preferably investment banking) and/or private practice experience focused on advising financial institution clients.
  • •Hands-on experience advising on all aspects of the employment lifecycle in a regulated APAC organisation, particularly employment law issues across APAC jurisdictions.
  • •Working knowledge of employment law, human resources, and regulatory landscapes in APAC.
  • •Confidence providing immediate support and advice to the business, with commercial judgment to distil and explain legal issues quickly and succinctly.
  • •Ability to efficiently manage and prioritise a varied workload across multiple stakeholders, collaborating with corporate and front office businesses.
