Job Summary

Lead electrical design efforts for healthcare, life science, industrial, and commercial building projects within a multi-discipline Property & Buildings team. Develop drawings and specifications for architects, contractors, and owners, and design power, emergency power, fire alarm/life safety, and lighting/controls systems. Perform electrical calculations, support construction administration, coordinate with stakeholders and regulatory agencies, and supervise/mentor younger engineers.

Key Responsibilities

•Collaborate with multi-discipline teams to develop electrical drawings and specification documents for architects, contractors, and building owners.
•Design electrical power and emergency power systems, including scheduling and selection of components and equipment.
•Design fire alarm and life safety systems, and lighting and lighting control systems.
•Perform electrical load, short circuit, and voltage drop calculations and provide construction administration phase services.
•Attend stakeholder/client meetings, coordinate with regulatory agencies and subcontractors, and supervise/mentor younger engineers.

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering.
•7-10 years of post-education experience designing electrical systems for industrial/pharmaceutical, laboratories, commercial, institutional/higher education, healthcare, or similar facilities.
•Professional engineering license preferred.
•Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practices, including design/build and permitting-related work.
•Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management across rehabilitation, renovation, and new design/construction projects.
