Job Summary

Lead pipeline engineering for mining infrastructure projects, combining process engineering, hydraulic analysis, and pipeline/pumping system design. Define system philosophy and deliver key studies and design packages covering pumping systems, pipeline networks, water management, surge protection, and safety assessments (HAZOP/SIL). Provide technical assurance, mentor engineers, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders across Australia and India, and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead design and analysis of pumping systems and pipeline/network systems for mining infrastructure projects.
•Define system philosophy, including pumping strategy, operating scenarios, and overpressure/surge protection, plus brownfield integration and tie-ins.
•Provide technical assurance and review of pipeline deliverables (route selection, feasibility studies, material selection, wall thickness design, and pipeline stress analysis) against applicable codes and standards.
•Develop and produce pipeline design documentation and calculations (BoD, design criteria, PFDs/P&IDs, process descriptions, mass/energy balances, hydraulic calculations, and documentation for validation/commissioning).
•Coordinate with multidisciplinary teams and stakeholders; support proposals and feasibility work, mentor engineers/designers, and ensure engineering excellence and compliance with quality standards.

Key Requirements

•8-12 years of experience in process engineering.
•Bachelor’s degree; preferred Master’s degree in mechanical/civil engineering (PG diploma/certificate in piping engineering is an asset).
•Strong experience in pumping systems and pipeline networks, including hydraulic design and system analysis.
•Good understanding of overland pipelines and transient/surge analysis.
•Ability to work in a LEAN environment and deliver strong organizational, technical, and communication skills (English).
