Job Summary

Join the Calgary Mining team as an Intermediate Mining Engineer (or EIT) to support mine planning and design for global mining clients. You’ll contribute to mine planning studies (scheduling, waste placement, pit/dump design, equipment selection, cost estimation), use tools like Deswik and other mine planning software, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams. You’ll also help prepare bids and technical reports (PEA, PFS, FS) and uphold a strong safety-first culture.

Key Responsibilities

•Support mine planning studies through scheduling, waste placement, pit and dump design, equipment selection, and cost estimation.
•Contribute to mine design using industry-leading software such as Deswik to deliver optimized solutions.
•Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to advance project outcomes across technical and advisory scopes.
•Assist in preparing bids and technical reports (PEA, PFS, FS) to support impactful project decisions.
•Engage with suppliers to obtain budgetary pricing and uphold a strong safety-first culture aligned with WSP and client standards.

Salary: 85,100 - 112,800

Key Requirements

•Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering.
•Registered as, or eligible to register as, a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer in Training (EIT) in Canada.
•2–5 years of experience in open pit mine planning.
•Experience contributing to technical mining projects and technical reports in consulting or industry environments.
•Proficiency in mine planning software such as Deswik, Vulcan, ArcGIS, or MineScape.
