Job Summary

Senior Seeker Radar Systems Engineer responsible for developing radar signal processing algorithms (Kalman filtering, statistical modeling, and processing from pulsed-Doppler waveforms), designing algorithms to convert signal returns into targets, defining performance interfaces, and guiding system robustness through analysis and simulation; will implement algorithms in Ada/C++ and collaborate in a fast-paced, IRAD environment on PAC-3 seeker development at Huntsville, AL.

Key Responsibilities

•Provide subject matter expertise in support of algorithm development for radar signal processing techniques such as Kalman filtering, probabilistic and statistical modeling, and measurement processing from pulsed-Doppler waveforms
•Design of algorithms that process signal returns into discriminated targets and track targets through mission timeline
•Define system performance requirements and ensure interface definition supports various functional components of the seeker’s and missile’s architecture
•Conduct analysis to optimize total system-of-systems performance and/or system architecture as applied to algorithmic functionality pertaining to the acquisition and tracking of targets
•Review and modify the application of general digital signal processing techniques to the processing of reradiated signal content to ensure accurate signal characteristic identification

Key Requirements

•Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology (including Manufacturing Technology), Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry or non-US equivalent qualifications directly related to the work statement
•5 years of experience in Digital Signal Processing/Radar/Digital Communications algorithms and techniques (equalization, waveform processing, detection/acquisition/discrimination, channel estimation, filter design, resampling theory, etc.)
•Experience with MATLAB for data analysis, prototyping, and/or modeling and simulation
•Knowledge of linear signal theory, Fourier transforms, and communication theory
•Familiarity with multiple programming languages and development environments (C++, Ada, Python, etc.) in an Agile environment
