Job Summary

Perform licensed DOT inspections and preventative maintenance in a mobile field environment, handling light, medium, and heavy-duty repairs. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, electrical, and electronic systems using test instruments and road tests. Serve as a lead consultant for customers and technicians, manage inventory on a service truck, complete DOT documentation, and ensure work complies with OSHA, EPA, and DOT requirements while maintaining high productivity.

Key Responsibilities

•Perform scheduled preventative maintenance (PM), DOT inspections, and follow-up repairs for light, medium, and heavy-duty vehicles in a mobile/field environment.
•Diagnose, adjust, and repair vehicle equipment including electrical/brake/cooling systems, starters/alternators, air conditioning, engine electronics, diesel steering, engines, transmissions, clutches, and differentials.
•Inspect, test, and listen to defective equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test instruments such as handheld computers and pressure gauges.
•Document repair work and complete DOT forms, uploading photos of findings, parts used, and repair order details via the company’s TRAIT application.
•Maintain and operate the company-issued service vehicle, manage parts inventory and equipment, and communicate with management/customers as needed to resolve issues.

Key Requirements

•High School Diploma/GED and 5 years’ experience in a related field (or an equivalent combination of education/certification and experience).
•Possess and supply a set of hand tools necessary to perform required job duties.
•Obtain Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification T8 (PMI) within eighteen (18) months.
•Obtain ASE 608/609 certification within eighteen (18) months.
•Pass DOT-regulated pre-employment background screening and DOT physical (or provide a current DOT medical card meeting the validity requirement), and hold a valid driver’s license.
