Job Summary

Lead the development and enforcement of an institution-wide research ethics and compliance framework covering ethical AI, responsible data governance, human subject protection, research integrity, and regulatory compliance. Provide strategic governance and oversight for IRBs and ethics committees, manage biosafety/export control/conflict-of-interest and RCR policies, establish risk assessment, monitoring, and audits, and deliver training while representing the institution with external regulators and partners.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead the creation and continuous improvement of the institution’s research ethics and compliance strategy, policies, and procedures.
•Develop and oversee institutional frameworks for ethical AI and responsible data governance, including governance for sensitive/personal/biometric data.
•Direct IRB, ethics committees, and compliance bodies to ensure rigorous ethical review for human subjects, animals, and high-risk technologies.
•Oversee implementation of biosafety, export control, conflict of interest, and responsible conduct of research (RCR) policies and establish data stewardship protocols.
•Establish risk assessment, monitoring, and compliance audits; provide escalation and reporting to relevant governance bodies and regulatory authorities.

Key Requirements

•Minimum 8+ years of experience in research compliance, research ethics, or regulatory affairs with demonstrated leadership in multidisciplinary environments.
•Deep familiarity with ethics frameworks and global standards such as Belmont Report, Declaration of Helsinki, UNESCO AI Ethics, and OECD AI Principles.
•Strong understanding of data governance and ethical AI topics including privacy, transparency, algorithmic accountability, and fairness.
•Excellent analytical, leadership, and communication skills with proven experience advising researchers and institutional leadership.
•Ability to work effectively across cultures and multidisciplinary teams.
