Job Summary

Build and optimize DroneShield’s RFAI-ATK Disruptor capability, developing Python-based systems software from API design through low-level hardware control. Work with a team of 5–10 engineers alongside ML/AI, Data Science, RF, and infrastructure to improve real-world disruption performance across research, development, testing, and device production. Own subsystems and lead technical decisions while applying reliable, high-performance engineering practices for resource-constrained targets.

Key Responsibilities

•Implement new software features from concept to delivery, including gathering requirements and diagnosing production issues.
•Interface with front-end and API teams and deliver robust, efficient APIs for internal and external integrations.
•Advance software architecture design processes and ensure reliability and performance on resource-constrained targets.
•Apply a test-driven development mindset and document architecture and processes.
•Collaborate with engineering teams to support reliable end-to-end system operation and provide technical mentorship.

Key Requirements

•BS degree in Computer Science, Mechatronics, Electronic Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
•Minimum 5-7 years of experience in related roles such as Software Engineer, Embedded Software Engineer, Firmware Engineer, or Python Developer.
•Strong modern Python development practices including type-safe data modelling, async programming, and test-driven development.
•Experience with API design, API contract definition and serialization, software architecture/design patterns, and SQL databases.
•Comfortable with Linux and development tools such as Git, Jira, Confluence, and CI/CD pipelines.
