Job Summary

Lead land-related advisory and delivery for major UK infrastructure projects, supporting land referencing and statutory processes to secure land rights and manage stakeholder relationships. Work with multidisciplinary teams across engineering, environmental and planning functions, oversee quality of deliverables, and contribute to bids and training through WSP’s Land Academy. This UK-wide hybrid role also involves travel across sites and occasional travel to WSP’s Global Capability Centre in India.

Key Responsibilities

•Lead a team of technical specialists to deliver projects on time, within budget and to high standards.
•Advise clients internally and externally on land issues across the UK and Ireland and manage client relationships.
•Secure land rights for strategic infrastructure projects and liaise with landowners, agents, legal representatives, planning authorities and other stakeholders.
•Lead quality assurance for identification of land interests and rights, including negotiation of access for surveys and land acquisition/consents for large developments.
•Support business development via bids/tenders and contribute to delivering training and CPD through the Land Academy.

Key Requirements

•Expertise in urban and/or rural environments, property, communities and stakeholder engagement.
•Experience in infrastructure development schemes with multi-disciplinary teams across a range of sectors and locations.
•Experience negotiating commercial terms with landowners and knowledge of the legal process for acquiring wayleaves, easements and negotiated access.
•Demonstrable experience reducing land risk across a project lifecycle and advising on land-related matters.
•A degree in Geography, Land/Estate Management, Agriculture or similar (chartership/membership of a relevant professional body advantageous).
